Purpose of the Job

A technical leader with hands on knowledge and ability to assess V&V requirements, propose solution architecture from Alstom product portfolio and facilitate deployment for metro customers.  Facilitate V&V lifecycle across all phases of project lifecycle viz. V&V Design, Integration of data, validating, debugging issues and Reporting. Responsible for overseeing project engineering of system V&V, technical/engineering management across all APAC projects. Shall also act as a tender leader, leading APAC tenders as V&V WPO. Incumbent shall be a single point of contact with product line teams and STO U400 solution/S&P teams representing all APAC projects.

Objectives

Facilitate V&V lifecycle for Urban solution for all APAC projects to deliver the content of V&V Work Package as committed and meet customer satisfaction and QCD goals.

Responsibilities 

  • Facilitate V&V lifecycle across all phases of project lifecycle viz. viz. V&V Design, Integration of data, validating, debugging issues and reporting.
  • Independently applies extensive expertise as a generalist or specialist to meet company standards and customer requirements including the validation of complex new / modified products/ systems. Defines validation specifications for new or modified products / systems in area of specialization to meet contract requirements. Performs responsibilities with limited direction from the manager.
  • Develops solutions to complex problems requiring innovation and creativity. Provides technical leadership to individuals or teams in resolving problems as defined above.
  • Advises and provides technical direction on assigned project(s) to other technical staff reporting within same project(s).
  • Leads or participate in technical discussions directly with customer and represents / protects the company’s interest. Works with project manager involving potential modifications to company’s specifications delivered so far.
  • Leads and provides input for cross – functional teams to meet project schedules.
  • Reviews specification documents and manages input to technical proposal and cost estimates as requested.
  • Provides technical input to or provides required documentation as needed per assigned procedure, process and activity being performed.
  • Mentors those less experienced in the department.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and resolution of issues detected in team deliverables.
  • Support defect liability/warranty period working closely with T&C to solve customer problems/design defects
  • Keeps abreast of technologies used by the company, industries to remain current and prepared for technology chances within the work environment.
  • 0% rework iterations and no delays due to activities/interdependencies not planned earlier
  • Performs other related activities as requested.

Knowledge & Experience

  1. 6-11 years of Signaling experience
  2. Technical expertise in functional area
  3. Exhibited leadership in directing the activities of others in area of specialization
  4. Degree in Electrical engineering or Electronics Engineering
  5. V&V Lifecycle
  6. Should have worked on any of the system type - ERTMS / CBTC/ Fixed Block Systems
  7. ISTQB Certification

Required  Experience / Skill Set

 Systems thinking – 3 views system engineering (functional, architectural and operational), test requirement management/traceability, system V&V /solution architecture /design.

  • Detailed Engineering specifications, Signaling rules, Configuring the V&V to adapt to customer needs.
  • Analysis / debugging / troubleshooting acumen.
  • Technical decision making.

Process advance working knowledge in following areas:

  • CBI/ATS/ATC Functional Design Overview.
  • CBI/ATS/ATC Architecture Description.
  • In Depth Virtualization Concepts
  • In Depth Networking skills
  • In depth Alstom/COTS Product knowledge.
  • Freeware/Tools knowledge used across V&V.
  • Basic understanding of Software ,to automate the validation activity
  • Detail design
  • Generation test descriptions / operations descriptions
  • Implementation of Simulation design and rules scenario
  • Knowledge on Interface of Equipment of tracks, Signaling cubicles & onboard
  • Extend the validation  to troubleshoot the Testing and commissioning feedback
