APAC Deputy Traction & Aux Product Manager

Purpose of the Job

  1. Assist the APAC Traction & Aux Product Manager in the implementation of APAC Traction & Aux Road Maps.

 For memory APAC Traction & Aux Product Manager responsibilities are:

  • to manage the Traction & Aux solutions in APAC in coordination with the Components  Platform and the Centers of Excellence: technical support for sales, pre-tendering & tendering for Traction & Aux, PIO in APAC, local product and production improvement, support for localization, APAC Project management & follow-up, REX and after sales.
  • To develop the Traction & Aux industrial footprint in APAC
  • To promote the Traction & Aux Engineering growth in APAC
  1. Within the transfer of certain products and projects tasks, from CoE to APAC, as well as from Coimbatore to Bangalore, the APAC Deputy Traction & Aux Product Manager takes specifically in hand some projects & tenders and applies to these tenders and projects the new ways of working defined.

Position in the Organisation

Organization Structure

As SSM manage functionally the engineering, sourcing, quality, industrialization  and manufacturing teams related to Traction & Aux activities for his project(s).

In the absence of the APAC Traction & Aux Product Manager, manages hierarchically the Traction & Aux projects and tenders teams

  2. Assist the APAC Traction & Aux Product Manager in
  • Monitoring Traction & Aux solution in APAC in accordance with Region Business needs and Components Platform Strategy.
  • Providing local support in APAC to lead improvement actions on the overall QCD of the reference Traction & Aux localized
  • Supporting Sales team, and to develop Projects in APAC.
  • Developing the Traction & CVS Engineering activities in APAC

Performance measurement

  1. QCD KPI of his own project(s) / products
  2. Success of the implementation in his project (s) of the new ways of working with CoE: project management & follow up processes and tools, tendering process.
  3. Success of the implementation in his project (s) of the new ways of working within India (with Rolling Stock projects as well as with Coimbatore Site)
  4. Growth of Traction & Aux Engineering activities and skills in APAC

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities for his own products and projects

  • Product and local Traction & Aux solution Development

o Support to Engineering activities to allow its growth in terms of volume as well of ‘’métiers’’ involved

  • Support to Sales team to identify the needs in terms of Traction & Aux solutions to meet forthcoming aimed market

o Support to Components Platform and Metiers (Industrial, sourcing, …) to implement local Traction & Aux solutions

o Support to Sales, pre-Tendering, Tendering & Projects for APAC Traction & Aux solutions

 

  • Traction & Aux Portfolio

o Propose and if agreed, lead a yearly improvement plan aiming to decrease cost basis (including local sourcing), increase reliability, add features and master actual CONQ issues

o Propose and if agreed put under control, budget for improvement allocated yearly (sustaining, R&D, pre-tendering)

o Interact with Compo Platform and European Sites

o Assist to prepare and participate 6-monthly Traction Product Review

o Propose Ref Lib Traction & Aux localized in APAC selling prices for next fiscal year and pricing policy for Year2 & Year3

  • Traction & Aux Tendering and projects

o Be the Traction SSM for his project(s) – See SSM job description

  • Support site tendering teams and validate Traction & Aux offers for localization in APAC Sites

o Propose or participate to the selection of the most suitable product from the portfolio with Components Platform

o Help in analysis technical risks or gap impact & support argumentation on product

o Be the Traction SSM for his project (s)

Purpose of the Job

Execute Traction order in accordance with the Contract requirements as well with the APAC Traction strategy and the European CoE governance.

Position in the Organisation

Organisational Reporting

Hierarchically to the Traction Product Manager APAC or his Deputy

Functionally to the Rolling Stock Project Director during project duration

Network & Links

Internal: RS Project Core Team, Department Heads in BGL and CJB, Traction Project team members in India as in Europe, Customer directors

External: suppliers, AT Customer.

Support the APAC Traction Product strategy

Scope:

Management of all the activities of design, industrialization, sourcing, manufacturing, validation, delivery, starting of revenue service, reliability growth, warranty management, for the Traction drive (and CVS if any) , in accordance with a share of work defined with the CoE in Europe and with RS Project in APAC.

Performance Measurement / KPI’s

  1. All ‘’Indian Work Packages’’ costs (NRC/RC) at completion
  2. OTIF
  3. Specific KPI related to specific actions launched (example Redesign to Cost or Localization  actions plans)

Responsibilities

In accordance to the scope defined above:

  1. Manages multifunctional team across BGL and CJB sites to execute Indian part of the Traction scope in accordance with the APAC Traction strategy, with the share of work defined with the European CoE and with the global Project targets given by the RS Project Director .
  2. Manages or Co manages with the CoE SSM, the project in all its aspects NRC and RC costs, delivery schedule, Customer documentation to delivered, performance and reliability targets…
  3. Is directly responsible of the QCD objectives of the Indian Traction scope
  4. In charge of Traction cross functional team management (Engg, Sourcing, PME, Quality…)
  5. Manages CJB site such that deliveries are in line with commitment.
  6. Manages CJB site such that RC are in line with commitment
  7. Monitors (with the help of a WPC) the RC and NRC costs of the project/product he manages.
  8. Ensures in BGL as in CJB that the resources necessary for the good execution of the project are in place.
  9. Manages the reliability growth.
  10. Coordinates improvement activities/costs reductions according to the QCD commitments given at project or product levels.
  11. Is the Customer (internal & external) interface for his project.
  12. Is with the Traction PREM the interface with the CoE in charge of the project in Europe.
  13. Manages with the CoE SSM, the risks & opportunities at the Traction level.
  14. Provides directly or through his Traction PREM the relevant data to “Metiers” for their workload forecast
  15. Provides relevant data to the APAC Traction Product Manager
  16. Is responsible to provide the relevant information for new tenders using the same product
