PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

In the Digital Transformation Department, Methods & Tools is working closely with all Functions (transformation programs, function methods and tools...) and Regions to:

  • Coordinate transformation programs by challenging dependencies and interfaces among programs, end to end process vision and global transformation capacity management.
  • Orchestrate the Configuration and Change Management process across all functions
  • Support all transformations to accelerate and secure adoption by adapting to maturity level, by sharing and developing best practices and by enforcing solution adoption KPIs
  • Manage data governance (including MDM) to maximize the usage of data to take decisions efficiently
  • Manage and enforce content management best practices across the organization

 

Within Methods & Tools, Data management department mission is to get the most from our data assets to reach better decisions:

  • Ensure that data is consistent leveraging the right governance
    • Enforce data management process (data architecture, data owner, data quality, data access & protection.)
    • Enforce collaboration across the organisation on data cross fertilization
    • Collect data management best practice and complete benchmarks
    • Collaborate to data technology roadmap
  • Ensure we leverage data across the organisation by developing data literacy and promoting existing data solutions
    • Manage data literacy program in particular on Alstom sites (available data within Alstom, algorithm culture, data to actions...)
    • Promote data cross fertilization across the organisation
    • Promote internal data marketplace including data lake usage
  • Manage directly some operations on data management
    • Deliver data quality score card

 

Alstom is now looking for a Data Quality Analyst, to integrate the team dedicated to Data Management to support and coordinate data quality initiatives with all metiers and regions.  .

 

Reporting to the Data Quality Domain Lead, and working closely with other Transformation Teams, Methods and Tools departments, IS&T department, Regions and Sites, you will contribute to:

  • Consolidate, Sustain and coordinate data quality initiatives (Master Data, Transactional Data, KPI…)
  • Setup and manage a data quality promotion program for Alstom on selected data sets
  • Measure data quality and impact on business processes efficiency
  • Monitor and enhance data quality, starting with Master Data, to optimize adoption of solutions (process and tools)
  • Coordinate action plans with data owners, data stewards, data operations team, as well as IS&T data teams and partners
  • Ensure good coordination between key stakeholders for Data projects such as Orchestra, Global Spend, Data Literacy
  • Promote business value brought by the initiatives throughout the year
  • Identify business needs linked to the convergence approach for the new Alstom following the acquisition of Bombardier

 

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  

 

 

As a Data Quality Analyst, you will:

  • Drive good data practices and ensure their application by data owners
  • Use data to help Alstom make more effective business decisions or gather and analyse data for the business to evaluate and use data to make decisions on their own
  • Define, develop, manage & sustain a Data Quality Management framework, including:
    • Applicable standards for KPIs definition and measurement
    • Tools and processes for data quality monitoring and cleansing automation
    • Best practices and REx consolidation
  • Manage specific projects dedicated to global or focused Data Quality improvement
  • Support data Owners, Data operations team, and engineering Parts Master Data factory to reach their Data Quality targets
  • Provide IS&T teams required means to embed required controls and automation in business applications
  • Promote agility by testing new ways of spreading the data quality knowledge and engaging with the teams and by measuring the effectiveness of data quality efforts
  • Collaborate with transformation programs in place to capture data quality priorities, measure usage and efficiency of changes from new data adoption programs
  • Complete and maintain established set of data quality rules towards a more comprehensive Data Governance framework and guidebook for operational data management, and especially master data management
  • Contribute to IS&T project reviews and architecture check lists to enforce application of data quality rules when designing a new application or applying changes on existing landscape

 

 

REQUIRED COMPETENCES

 

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

  • A degree or higher in engineering, technology or related field, you have a deep knowledge and understanding of end to end data processes (minimum of 5 years’ experience in the concerned domain).

Desirable:

  • Higher than 5 years’ experience in the concerned domain

Experience

Mandatory:

  • You demonstrate good communication skills as well as influencing and negotiating skills. You have the ability to deliver training, facilitate workshops, understand and produce business process flow diagrams. You are result oriented and show intellectual curiosity and creativity.
  • Strong business focus, ability to operate at prime contact level with senior managers.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering customer satisfaction improvements.
  • Fluent in English, you are eager to work with autonomy in an international environment and to face the challenges of the new Alstom.
