Could you be the full-time Learning and Development Specialist in Alstom India we’re looking for?


Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your comprehensive expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative, supportive, and dedicated teammates.

You'll spearhead the deployment of multiple training programs, ensuring a culture of continuous learning and development. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Innovation Champions, Métier Managers, Domain and EDU Leaders, HR Business Partners), manage the technical understanding of job codes/descriptions, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of fostering a strong learning orientation, leveraging AR/VR tools for accelerated learning, and designing programs for competency growth among experts, but also coordinating with stakeholders for effective training deployment.

You'll be working alongside Innovation team to foster new ideas and encourage creativity to enable innovation rigour among the teams and align them with the business needs.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Organizing briefing sessions and workshops related to Competency and Expertise

  • Ensuring the timely deployment of training plans

  • Applying continuous improvement initiatives for ease of learning assimilation

  • Efficient communication with all stakeholders

  • Leading improvement initiatives for certification programs

  • Coordinating with Subject Matter Experts for training material enhancements

  • Develop and implement innovation strategy

  • Build innovation capabilities
  • Collaborate across departments to foster innovation culture
  • You will be responsible for:

    • Competency Development & Innovation
    • Organizing briefing sessions and workshops related to Competency
    • Ensure proper timeline of deployment plan in line with the deadlines
    • Apply continuous improvement initiatives to ensure qualitative submissions.
    • Provide efficient communication to stakeholders.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for all certification programs whether internal or external to Alstom
    • Based on RSC Engineering India training gaps and learning orientation roadmap, coordinate training developments or updates/enhancements of training material with Subject Matter Experts and potentially external agencies
    • Build a strong link between the Engineering competency matrixes for each Metier and the learning curriculum
    • Manage and coordinate the implementation and deployment of the global training curriculum for the Engineering community
    • Support the communication and sharing of updates/best practices and associated tools to Engineering Métier leaders and other academies
    • Monitor training quality and participation by following up KPIs and other reports as per requests
    • Reflect any métier job structure changes and competency updates in training offer
    • Conduct yearly competency assessment gap analysis based on Qlik Sense / Power BI / Equivalent dashboard currently for all Engineering métiers and present results
    • Consolidate and follow-up on global and regional action plans for competency development improvements 
    • Monitor all training quality and participation for global training offer based on existing reports and follow-up on KPIs and other reports as per requests 
    • Support any training development needs or certification activities as needed in collaboration with Training Manager or Learning Certification Coordinator  
    • Support the communication and sharing of any updates regarding training offer changes due to métier Structure update to the Engineering Community  
    • Coordinate yearly global métier structure update for Engineering Métiers with métier owners to ensure simplification and harmonization across various métiers
    • Maintain job code structure and associated job descriptions up to date as per latest organizational changes
    • Coordinate competence and matrix simplification with métier owners based on any process updates or feedback for improvement received
    • Monitor Onboarding page statistics and activity participation by following up KPIs and other reports as per requests
    • Support any training development needs or certification activities as needed in collaboration with Training Manager or Learning Coordinator
    • Encourage experimentation, creativity, and collaboration across all levels of the organization. 
    • Build business cases for innovation projects and allocate budgets to support them. 
    • Establish metrics, track progress, and analyze the return on investment to ensure innovation efforts are: 
    • Develop employee skills and train managers to recognize and support new ideas. 
    • Work with other departments, such as marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure new initiatives are successfully integrated. 
    • People Analytics 

      • Design and establish meaningful metrics and dashboards to report on monthly basis, in order to monitor important people metrics and the progress for Alstom People Strategy KPI 
      • Develop a good level of understanding of the business challenges, organization structure & talent issues to identify relevant analytics needs.
      • Generate People Analytics based on multiple internal and external data sources and convert into compelling visual stories
      • Prepare presentations and supporting materials to propose recommendations and influence change related to People topics
      • Serve as an internal expert in Engineering Community to use and interpretate people data and metrics; encourage the adaption of data mindset when making decision; provide training for People Analytics self-service tools (ex. Qlik Sense / Power BI / Equivalent)
      • Work with HR Process & Tool to promote data governance and stewardship to improve overall data quality on people topics
      • Proactively anticipate requirement for planned and adhoc clean-up of data and repositories
      • Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex datapoints.

      • Business Master’s degree with Bachelors in Engineering.
      • Competency development and training experience.

      • Mandatory:

        • 10 - 12 years’ of hands-on experience in People related functions
        • At least 2 years of experience in Analytics domain, having solid experience hands on doing analytics from scratch
        • Aptitude and enthusiasm to work with data in order to present metrics, results, progress updates and compliance information
        • Excellent written and oral communication skills

        Desirable:
