Job Title: Bogie Design Engineer

 

Purpose & Objective

This role will support QCD and execute all CAD activities assigned. Interface with CFT, Bogie PrEM, Industrial team in conceptualization of design to finalization and release.

  • 100% on-time delivering
  • Closure of open-points or escalation: As per business Targets
  • 100% Compliance to Engineering Work Package (variation orders excluded)

 

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Delivery of Bogie Engineering outputs, in compliance with the Engineering QCD commitments.
  • Applies on project Bogie Design development procedures.
  • Good knowledge in Material specification / weld types, structural standards (proof and fatigue), interfaces, weights management, Tolerance Stack-Up and manufacturing Tolerances.
  • Good Knowledge on Piping and Electrical cabling Installation / Routing.
  • Good Knowledge on CAD Tools (Catia V5) and PDM System (Enovia).
  • Ability to undertake basic stress calculations.
  • Ability to select and size mechanical fixings (Fasteners) on the basis of structural requirements.
  • Good understanding of Bogie architecture and systems and their methods of installation (Preffered Not Mandatory)
  • Good awareness of the Bogie cost drivers and an ability to optimize solutions to achieve a cost effective system that meets the functionality and performance requirements (Preffered Not Mandatory)

 

Knowledge & Experience:

  • 8+ Yrs of Experience. Mechanical engineer expertise, with material specialization. Manufacturing and Assembly process expertise

 

Knowledge techniques / Experience

  • Experience in New product development
  • Relevant experience in design of mechanic-welded structures and assemblies (3 years minimum)
  • Practice of structures Design & calculations software (appreciated: CATIA, ENOVIA, HYPERWORKS)


Technical skills

  • Design and Sizing of Mechnical structures - Welded and Bolted (asset)
  • Knowledge in Structures and dynamic calculations (asset)
