About Alstom in India

Alstom has established a strong presence in India. Currently, the company is executing metro projects in several Indian cities including Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow where it is supplying Rolling Stock manufactured out its state of the art facility at SriCity in Andhra Pradesh. In the Mainline space, Alstom is executing Signaling & Power Supply Systems for the 343 Km. section on World Bank funded Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Phase 1 in the construction of the new electric locomotive factory for manufacturing and supply of 800 units of 12000HP locomotives is also complete at Madhepura, Bihar while the depot at Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh is ready to commence operation. Alstom has set up an Engineering Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, and this coupled with a strong manufacturing base as well as localized supply chains, is uniquely positioned to serve customers across the globe. This role will be handling Record to Report Operations for specific country/countries under the scope of IFEC. The position will be based out of Bangalore.






Perform day to day tasks in Record To Report as assigned as per set SOP

o Perform month end closing tasks as assigned as per set SOP

o Adhere to set Standard Operating Procedures in the execution of activities

o Adhere to set internal controls in the execution of activities

o Actively contribute towards Root Cause Analysis on all critical issues / errors reported, track and the closure of corrective and preventive actions

o Track changes to the processes and ensure SOPs are kept updated

o Perform Balance Sheet Reconciliations and take corrective actions to resolve abnormalities

o Train new entrants to the process

o Actively contribute in development, integration and transfer of the processes and teams from the different Regions to IFEC

o Actively contribute in standardization of the Record To Report processes in the country/countries

o Ensure the delivery of reliable and timely information to the units

Qualifications & Skills:




Graduate or above

Language: English (mandatory


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (in English)
  • Leadership qualities & ability to accompany the change
  • Problem solving driven & appropriate urgency awareness skills

  • A result oriented individual able to handle the role with a strong ability to influence, guide and provide critical feedback





  • Process management skills, predominantly in Record To Report (mandatory)
  • SAP based ERP experience desirable and strong end-user Knowledge of SAP/related Finance tools (mandatory)
  • Past experience in involvement in Internal/External Audits (mandatory)
  • Knowledge of Indian GAAP


  • Process management skills in other areas like Inter-company, AP (desirable)
  • Experience in integration projects from operating unit to FSSC or BPO (desirable)
  • Experience in automations, Yellow Belt, Green Belt projects (desirable)
  • Knowledge of IFRS

  • Abovev 5 years of experience preferably in a General accounting environment in a Multinational Company with a minimum of 4 years as a Subject Matter Expert / Process lead of a General Ledger operation in a captive Finance shared service or BPO.
  • Language Skills: Proficient in English language
