Overall Purpose of the Role:

Alstom Services offers a wide range of business solutions for Rolling Stocks (train, metro, tramway), Signaling and Infrastructure products: maintenance, modernization, technical support and spare parts services. The Railway Maintenance Solutions department, part of Digital Services organization, is responsible to define the architecture, to design, to build and to operate the IOT Predictive Maintenance solutions supporting the Alstom Services business processes.

 

Railway Maintenance Solutions deals with Alstom’s Predictive maintenance solution to facilitate the whole life cycle of a Railway Asset. It includes capturing data from various devices from inside the trains, outside the trains, trackside devices etc. run various algorithms to calculate Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of each component and provide a platform for User to visualize the findings and generate reports. It provides unprecedented visibility into the real-time operation and health of each train. It enables a quicker corrective maintenance, a better support to the train crew and prevents some failures from occurring and thereby reducing maintenance cost and simultaneously improving train availability.

 

Your Job

The Application Operations Owner is accountable for running & maintaining all Railway Maintenance Solutions applications in his/her portfolio. It includes all Data Capture applications, Maintenance applications and Operation applications with the all the New Cutting Edge Technologies. With strategic partners, he/she will ensure the availability and the performance of the applications in his/her scope.

 

An Application Operations Owner is responsible for the following activities:

  • Work towards availability and performance for applications in production at optimized costs, according to the business needs
  • Drive the level 2 and level 3 support activities for his portfolio of applications
  • Control performance through KPIs, with Operation Service Agreement and Service Level Agreement, ensuring they are met by the partners
  • Manage Change Requests (planning, estimation, coordination, and execution)
  • Oversee day-to-day activities for good health/stability with partners
  • Daily, weekly and monthly operation reviews with the partner selected for Application Management Services 
  • Coordinate with Partners, Services Performance Team, Business Users for Incident Management and Change management
  • Drive the Vulnerability fixes for all the Vulnerability found during the monthly scans.
  • Act as point of contact for escalations whenever there is a need for and/or manage conflict
  • Apply governance and follow-up with our service partners
  • Participate to functional design review, acceptance solutions or Go-Live planning
  • Propose and put in place new process or realignment when needed
  • Contribute to the worldwide deployment of the solutions and migration from the actual or legacy solutions
  • Identify and propose Continuous improvement initiative to improve services efficiency  (as for example the drive of overall ticket volume decrease)
  • Being  accountable for the performance of critical applications

 

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven Experience 12+ Years in the Application RUN operations with exposure to ITIL Process
  • Proficiency in the Stake holders Management at various level in the organization
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities

 

The challenge regarding the position is the accountability of the performance of critical applications for Alstom company. He/She should have both IT technical skills and good functional knowledge and will have to interact with many stakeholders in the functions and metiers of ALSTOM and with all the IT partners of Alstom in order to manage the issues and conflicts when critical events related to the applications in his/her portfolio. Very good communication and negotiation skills are mandatory.
