Join us as Manager Purchasing and Materials, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Baltimore (MD), US.


Based at the riverside Maryland facility, you will plan, organize, source, and procure materials necessary for the operation and maintenance of the train service. You will be responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials equipment and suppliers from vendors as well as evaluating vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers. You will also be responsible for the material distribution to Bombardier assigned sites.




  • Manage all purchasing and procurement activities for the site
  • Negotiate subcontracts and track their performance
  • Monitor goals, achievements, and reporting
  • Identify suppliers base and obtain quotes from vendors
  • Manage inventory without hindering productions
  • Procure parts/ consumable in compliance with customer policies
  • Assist in quoting new jobs, working with vendors to obtain the best price:
  • Ensure accuracy of parts numbers, delivery dates and vendors
  • Coordinate and supervise storehouse operation, including the personnel
  • Expedite material dates and define storeroom manpower requirements
  • Work in collaboration with Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager to ensure completion of inspection for incoming parts and preservation/storage of perishable material
  • Perform other related duties as required




  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent
  • You possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or warehouse of maintenance of parts and materials, railroad experience is a strong asset
  • You possess a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Your union management experience will be consider an asset
  • You have good proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Your English communication skills (written and spoken) are excellent
