Reporting to the Site Serial Test Manager, the Test Engineer is a critical part of the team, working with a range of other experts and colleagues and carries out the test of trains in accordance with the testing procedure and as per the delivery schedule.

 

The core responsibilities of the Test Engineer include;

  • Understanding, applying, and responding to the relevant testing in accordance with customer requirements and test procedures
  • Performing test execution and troubleshooting activities on trains
  • Develop standard operating procedures and relevant documentation for test operations 
  • Coordinating with the design team to mitigate design issues and other teams including production, safety, quality to ensure on time delivery obligations are met
  • Adhere to and promote the constant respect for safety, protocols and procedures across all activities
  • Manage the repair of failures and escalate inconsistencies where required
  • Seek out and propose process improvements or efficiencies

 

About you

We are firstly looking for a great team player who enjoys working alongside other colleagues to achieve a common goal.   • An electrical engineering qualification (mandatory)
  • Experience in a test engineer or validation engineer position ideally within the rail industry or similar - automotive, electrical
  • Excellent organisational, communication and teamwork skills 
  • Experience in electrical troubleshooting, fault finding and developing testing process documents.
  • Willingness and ability to work a flexible roster including night shift (where required)
