Could you be the next Afternoon Shift Production Supervisor we're looking for in Ballarat?

Everyone knows the sequel is always better—and that’s exactly why Alstom is raising the bar with X’Trapolis 2.0. We’re entering an exciting ramp up phase, creating a unique opportunity to join a growing team at a pivotal moment. This is your chance to be part of a landmark project that will shape public transport for our local community and the state for years to come.

Alstom Ballarat is proud to offer a newly created permanent Production Supervisor role, supporting operations on the Afternoon Shift (3:00 pm – 12:00 am, Monday to Thursday). You’ll join an established, high-performing team where collaboration, energy, and shared success are at the heart of everything we do.

Your future role

Take on an exciting new challenge where you can apply your leadership and process optimisation expertise in a cutting-edge environment. Working alongside an innovative and collaborative team, you’ll lead our afternoon shift manufacturing operations and oversee delivery, quality, performance, and the day-to-day management of Production Teams. Partnering closely with cross‑functional stakeholders across Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, and Industrial Quality, you’ll coach and mentor teams to achieve KPIs, drive production performance, meet key milestones, and play a pivotal role in delivering the X’Trapolis 2.0 project.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Lead and coordinate production team activities to achieve operational targets
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Monitor production schedules and proactively resolve delays or issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address challenges and improve processes
  • Provide training, coaching, and ongoing support to develop production team capability
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and performance

All about you:

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
  • Hold a relevant Trade Qualification (Certificate III in Electrotechnology OR Cert III In Engineering - Mechanical)
  • Demonstate strong leadership of the delivery, quality, performance and day to day management of Production Teams
  • Detailed understanding of manufacturing processes, systems and technologies
  • Experience from a similar position in an operational, manufacturing working environment

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
