About the role:
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic team? We are looking for a passionate and driven HR Advisor to join us at our Ballarat, VIC site. In this permanent role, you will report to the HR Business Partnering Lead for the Rolling Stock & Components Product Line and play a crucial role in supporting a positive and inclusive workplace culture. You'll work closely with leaders and employees to manage key HR processes, ensure compliance, and align HR strategies with our business goals. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative team and help drive HR initiatives that contribute to the success of the site.
As an HR Advisor, you will:
- Take ownership of the employee onboarding and offboarding experience, ensuring smooth transitions and engaging induction programs
- Guide employees and managers through the entire people lifecycle, from contract amendments to performance management
- Manage and maintain accurate personnel records, providing valuable insights through monthly HR metrics reports
- With support from the HR Manager, provide IR/ER advice on employment contracts, awards, and enterprise agreements
- Build meaningful relationships with employees and union delegates, playing an active role in Enterprise Agreement negotiations
- Partner with Talent Development to create and implement impactful learning programs, including Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives
- Coordinate and grow early career programs like apprenticeships and student site visits, fostering the next generation of talent
- Lead workforce planning activities, including recruitment, retention, and succession planning, to ensure the site’s future success
- Organise engaging HR training sessions and events, contributing to the ongoing development of our people
- Analyse HR data to drive continuous improvement and deliver insights that support workforce planning and overall business strategy
All about you:
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills – you thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated generalist HR experience covering all areas of HR management practice within a matrix organisational structure
- Had involvement in EA negotiations, award and EA interpretation, employee engagement and transformation
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to drive continuous improvement in HR practices
- Passionate about fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace where every individual can succeed and thrive
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all HR documentation and reporting
- The ability to handle sensitive situations with integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a focus on delivering high-quality HR services
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
