Purpose of the Role
The Training Coordinator is responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating training across operations and maintenance disciplines. This role ensures that employees achieve and maintain required certifications, technical competencies, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver classroom, practical, and on-the-job training for operations and maintenance personnel, ensuring alignment with certification and licensing requirements.

Assess trainee performance through written exams, practical evaluations, and field observations, providing constructive feedback and targeted coaching.

Audit employees’ work performance to ensure compliance with procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.

Utilize a range of instructional methods—classroom presentations, demonstrations, and individualized coaching—to accommodate diverse learning styles.

Develop and maintain up-to-date course materials, lesson plans, manuals, and assessment tools reflecting technical updates and lessons learned from field activities.

Monitor operational and maintenance practices to identify areas for improvement and integrate corrective measures into training programs.

Maintain accurate training records, tracking certifications, re-certifications, and compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory standards.

Coordinate training schedules with supervisors and managers to meet operational needs while minimizing service disruption.

Foster a strong safety culture by embedding safety awareness and best practices into all training activities.

Conduct independent reviews of incidents and deliver focused training addressing system or process failures.

Participate in shift turnover meetings, review status boards for vehicle issues, and conduct targeted on-the-job training (OJT) for maintenance technicians based on recent failures.

Dedicate approximately 45–50% of work hours to real-time OJT in the field.

Must be able to transition between 1st and 2nd shifts as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Training:

Technical degree or equivalent experience in a related field (mechanical, electrical, or rail operations preferred).
Experience:
-
Proven experience in training delivery, instructional design, or technical coaching within a maintenance or operations environment.

Familiarity with transportation systems, maintenance practices, and safety standards.
