Role Purpose
As an Atlanta Buyer, you will lead and manage procurement and supplier contract activities for assigned commodities or project packages, ensuring QCDT (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Time) targets are met, particularly through ramp‑up phases. You will support commodity strategy, internal stakeholders, and projects, serving as the link between commercial objectives and supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier & Contract Management

Drive full supplier selection process; prepare supplier contracts and manage contract execution.

Issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs); lead supplier negotiations ensuring best value.

Monitor evolution of procurement projects including legal, product development, and business award facets.

Secure adherence to commitments in work package sheets.

Coordinate all contracting activities; ensure on‑time delivery and required quality especially during project ramp‑ups.

Promote and enforce the Alstom Code of Ethics in all supplier interactions.
Commodity Strategy Support

Consolidate commodity needs and inputs from internal customers (projects, platforms, solutions).

Actively participate in development of commodity strategies and supplier panel elaboration.

Support commodity managers in tender phases.

Provide insights to differentiate the commodity (cost, quality, innovation).

Ensure effective collaboration with internal stakeholders in problem solving.

Apply and feed back into the Alstom procurement process.
Required Skills & Experience
-
Proven experience in procurement, supplier selection/management, negotiating contracts.

Strong ability to monitor and deliver QCDT targets in complex projects.

Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (legal, engineering, quality, project leads).

Good understanding of ramp‑up phase challenges and supplier performance assurance.

Excellent communication, problem‑solving, analytical skills.

Strong ethics and integrity; commitment to Alstom’s values.
