As “Power Supply Design Engineer” :

  • Assist the “Power Supply Design Manager” in his role of performing the basic and detailed power supply engineering activities of a traction project (metro, tramway or mainline),
  • Assist the “Power Supply Design Manager” for all interfaces with the power supply sub-system,
  • Produce the necessary design and engineering workload and deliver with excellence at the right time and the right quality,
  • Participate at the REX (Return of Experience) of the project,
  • Provide support to one or several Bids in line with policies, standards, regulation and customer specifications.
     

Organisation Reporting

  • The position reports hierarchically to the “Power Supply Engineering Manager”.
  • The position reports functionally to one of the “Power Supply Technical Manager” and to the “Power Supply Design Manager” of the project.

 

 Network & Links

The “Power Supply Design Engineer” will liaise with:

  • Engineering: Power supply engineering team + other engineering teams,
  • Project: Project management team,
  • Site: Construction + tests and commissioning teams,
  • Bid: Bid management team,
  • External interface: Suppliers + Subcontractors + Customer + Partners,
  • Regional Centers.
     

Performance Measurement/KPI’s

  • The “Power Supply Design Engineer” work will be evaluated according to the following points:
  • On-time delivering: 100%,
  • Respect of Design for Quality milestones: 100% Go On Time, in accordance with the standards or rules of his Metier,
  • Respect of performances of the system provided: 100%,
  • Quality of the works performed in the frame of Central function.

 
 Responsibilities
As “Power Supply Design Engineer”:

  • Perform the power supply (for high voltage / medium voltage / traction / low voltage parts) basic engineering activities of a project:
  • Analyse customer’s specifications / requirements and design components of the Power Supply & Traction Power System accordingly,
  • Provide electrical architectures, technical specifications, functional specifications and interface specifications,
  • Provide calculation notes,
  • Ensure the technical validation of the supplier’s equipment offers,
  • Perform the power supply (for high voltage / medium voltage / traction / low voltage parts) detailed engineering activities of a project:
  • Production of BOQ’s
  • Follow-up and validation of the technical drawings and manuals from the equipment supplier,
  • Deliver detailed design documents,
  • Provide the factory test procedures of the equipment,
  • Participate at the factory acceptance tests of the equipment.
  • Assist the “Power Supply Design Leader” for coordination / interfaces with:
  • The Saint-Ouen power supply engineering team (including automation and installation teams),
  • The others sub-systems of the project, particularly: Systems, civil works, SCADA, catenary, return current, EMC, earthing & bonding, etc...
  • The on-site power supply engineering team (if any),
  • The customer,
  • The project management team,
  • The suppliers, the subcontractors, and the partners.
  • Provide technical support to Construction and Test and Commissioning teams with regards to design issues,
  • Participate (if requested) to the As-built documentation drawings modifications.

 
Knowledge & Experience

  • MEng Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • A minimum of three-five years of experience in electrical engineering,
  • Professional experience in railway transportation,
  • Very good knowledge of electromechanical drawings,
  • Good knowledge of electrical installation (high voltage, medium voltage and low voltage),
  • Very good IT Skills,
  • Very good writing and editorial skills,
  • Good co-ordination and communication skills,
  • Autonomy, motivated, initiative and interested in technical topics,
  • Problem solving mindset with attention to detail and good analytical skills,
  • Fluent English, second language appreciated.
