Purpose of the job:

  • Develop hardware electrical or electronic components (electronic boards or modules, electrical wiring of electronic products or subrack or cubicle …)

Main Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Elaborate or contribute to the elaboration of Hardware (Hw) specification & architecture, in collaboration with the HW architect
  • Perform the interfaces and/or development of HW components of different subsystems:
    • Perform the detailed specification and design of the Hw components, describing technical choices and verifying by analysis (computations, models, simulation or mock-up) the compliance to input requirements.
    • Select the materials and electric/electronic/electromechanical parts. This activity will be performed in collaboration with the project architect.
    • Design the electrical schematics and produce associated Bill of Material
    • Define the placement and routing constraints of materials
    • Calculate thermal performances
    • Ensure that the design can be manufactured, tested and repaired, together with industrialization teams
    • Follow the realization of the prototypes made by industrialization team and check them
    • Put the Hardware work product under configuration management according to product Configuration Management Plan
  • Support the Hw/ Hw and Hw/Sw integration, together with the HW Architect and SW designer
  • Support the Hw validation of the product including environmental qualification and type tests
  • Sustain the Hw
    • Analyze incident coming from field return, production, contribute to their resolution and propose design improvement solutions
    • Analyze impact of obsolete component (product discontinuation) and propose replacement solutions. This activity will be performed in collaboration with the project architect
    • Perform the modification of the design
    • Analyze impact of change, update the documentation and perform non regression verification activities
  • Remain informed of the evolution of technologies through techno watch
  • Through his / her activities, contribute to standardization by reusing existing solutions or by implementing reusable solutions
  • Apply processes and standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement (RoE - Return on Experience, process …)
  • Ensures reporting of its activities to the HW Architect

 

Performance measurements:

  • Actual vs planned number of development runs
  • On-Time Delivery
  • Number of non-detected issue, detected after end of component verification

 

Educational Requirements 

  Mandatory:

  • Master’s Or Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Mechanical engineers with minimum electrica knowledge are acceptable as well

Experience

Mandatory:

  • Experience of electrical development
    • Design tools, mostly Autocad 2D (SolidWorks, Inventor, Autocad)

Desirable

  • Experience in railways industry or in industry with similar requirements (aeronautics, automotive, military)
  • Vital hardware development

 

Competencies & Skills 

  • Good written English communication skills
  • Ability to work with other engineering teams
