Purpose of the job:

  • Electro-mechanical covers products made of electrical motors, electrical contacts and safety mechanical kinetics such as point machines and level crossings.
  • Delivers studies, drawings, Bill of Material and technic al documentation for Signaling Trackside products with high level of safety.

Main Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Leads specific design from pre-study until industrialized design;
  • Define Technical Specification on minor developments for Externalized activities;
  • Is accountable for design documentation release (assembly and detailed drawings, Bill of material, schematics, technical reports);
  • Participate to planning follow-up in collaboration with Product Architect;
  • Defines mock-ups design and follow its manufacturing and validation;
  • Collaborate to prototype assembly and fine tuning and collect design return of experience
  • Participate in integration of the product with electrical and mechanical Interfaces;
  • Provides all necessary information for safety analysis;
  • Collaborate with Life Cycle Team to ensure the whole products documentation updating;
  • Participates to the Finite Element Method process evolution due to software new releases and return of experience;
  • Propose the manufacturing technology solution for every single component and validate the solution during Co-Engineering sessions with Industrialization;
  • Is involved as technical expert in case of customer service needs (return of experience);
  • Collaborate with Electromechanical Acceptance Team to define the Validation Test Plan;
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew;
  • Contributes to continuous improvement of electromechanical Métier processes.

 

Educational Requirements 

  Mandatory:

  • Graduated from Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering

 

Experience

Mandatory:

  • Experience of mechanical design office

Desirable

  • Signaling or railways background
  • Field (installation or workshop)
  • Industrialization
  • Structural Calculation / Finite Element Method simulation

 

Competencies & Skills 

  • CAD 2D and 3D (SolidWorks, Inventor, Autocad);
  • Product Data Management (Enovia, Smarteam, Solidworks PDM);
  • Knowledge in dimensioning standard or new electromechanical solutions (ball bearing/ball screws, lubricants, mechanical power transmission, oil-pressure system, generic mechanical components);
  • Matlab
  • Innovation
