Lead EHS Engineer in Astana

We’re looking for a Lead EHS Engineer to protect the people that keep the trains running. The railways is a hazardous job, and we need our employees to be safe. You’ll work alongside people who show up with ownership, passion, and dedication — because they know what’s at stake: the journey home.

 

Your role, your impact

  • Conduct and participate in EHS inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor, control, and support the implementation of corrective actions and follow-up activities related to identified EHS deviations.
  • Oversee and support EHS data management within AZDP and the EHS website, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
  • Coordinate EHS-related documentation and administrative workflows, including ARIBA, Agreements on Work (AoW), Purchase Requisitions (PR), and Purchase Orders (PO).
  • Monitor and control the EHS budget, including tracking expenditures and ensuring cost-effective resource utilization.
  • Coordinate EHS training programs, induction sessions, and competency management processes for employees and contractors.

 

You’ll work with sharp, committed teams across engineering, operations, and design — solving complex challenges that shape the future of mobility.

 

What you bring

  • Engineering degree
  • Experience in railways is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, and good command of English, Russian and Kazakh
  • Risk assessment and procedure codification skills
  • Ready for business trips (Almaty, Arys, Shu, Tobol, Ekibastuz etc.)

 

How success is measured

  • Quality and timeliness of deliverables.
  • EHS KPI improvement
  • Contribution to peer reviews and teamwork.
