Could you be the full-time Finance Controller in Astana we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your financial expertise in a dynamic and impactful environment. You’ll work alongside collaborative and forward-thinking teammates.

You’ll play a pivotal role in driving the financial success of our projects. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Project Management, Procurement, Legal, and Operations), provide financial insights and guidance, and ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies.

You’ll specifically take care of optimizing financial aspects of the project organization, but also support strategic decision-making and risk management processes.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Participating in the overall Project Management process alongside the Project Manager.

  • Providing financial strategy and advice to enhance project outcomes.

  • Ensuring compliance with finance rules during project review preparation and execution.

  • Monitoring and improving the financial performance of projects, including contract margins, cash profiles, and risk mitigation.

  • Providing accurate financial forecasts for revenue, cash flow, and costs.

  • Supporting procurement processes, including internal transfer pricing policies and purchase order compliance.

  • Collaborating with finance and non-finance expert functions, such as Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Operational Excellence.

  • Contributing to negotiation processes and supporting risk and opportunity management.

  • Partnering with the Project Manager and Contract Manager to address financial topics and risk profiles in contract and claim management.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (Master’s degree is a plus).

  • Additional qualifications such as ACCA, CFA, or CAP/CIPA certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.

  • 3+ years of experience in planning, financial modeling, auditing, or cost controlling.

  • Experience in industrial sectors is a plus.

  • Background in Big Four accounting firms is an advantage.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with tools such as SAP and Power BI.

  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French is a strong asset due to daily communication with French sites.

  • Strong competencies in assertiveness, quick-thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.

Things you’ll enjoy
