Could you be the full-time Documentation Engineer in Astana we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your technical expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to Maintenance Engineering Manager Yerlik Adambekov, and work alongside intelligent and creative teammates.
In this role you will work on maintaining calatalogue of technical documentation, coordinate change management and update procedures, but also get involved in other engineering activities.
We’ll look to you for:
- Creation and updating of the E-catalog of the locomotive and its individual parts;
- Create drawings in CAD systems such as SolidWorks
- Visit workshops to take the measurements of parts
- Request information necessary for the preparation of technical documentation from the company's divisions;
- Send requests for codification of standard locomotive parts;
- Create and update purchase numbers for components according to specification and design parts
- Monitor the codification process and update as necessary;
- Provide timely progress reports/information to direct and/or functional manager, including technical documentation deadlines;
- Work in the company's corporate programs - ALPS, ServiceNow, SAP, Orchestra, DMA, Isodraw , ILS PDM and other programs accessed by the employee in this position;
- Provide training and adaptation of new employees;
- Support other departments with technical requests:
- To carry out certain official assignments of his/her direct supervisor;
- Provides management with suggestions to optimize processes and costs;
- Managing the implementation of the ALSTOM standards;
- Respecting EHS and ALSTOM procedures.
- Participates actively in the Services Engineering network.
- Assures the technical support to the projects.
- Participates in the REX process.
Coordination of activities on the service project:
- Analyses and integrates data coming from Stakeholders (Return on Experience).
- Manages interface with other Product Lines’ Metiers.
- Improve Services Engineering tools & processes
Performance measurements:
- OTD, QCD, PMC, Project reliability / availability / cost targets

- University degree in Railway Engineering, Automation Engineering or Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
- Computer literacy and affinity for technical software
- Data management skills
- Knowledge and experience working with CAD software (Solid works, AutoCAD, Catia)
- Basic knowledge of international and local standards (GOST, ST, ISO, DIN) and understanding how to apply them.
- Proficiency in using measuring tools (mechanical/electronic calipers, thread gauges, laser distance meters, etc.)
- Ability to determine the materials needed for manufacturing a part through analysis and data collection.
- Problem solving capacity (technical and costs evaluation of a solution)
- Capacity of managing Technical risks
- Self-motivated and mature
- Attention to detail, diligence
- Communication and teamwork
- Fluent English
