Could you be the full-time Certification and Authorization Engineer in Katowice we’re looking for?

 

Take on a new challenge and apply your expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to Iwona (Certification & Authorisation Group Manager) and work alongside passionate, motivated and dedicated teammates.

 

As a Certification and Authorization (C&A) Engineer you will be engaged in ERTMS wayside or ETCS on-board projects executed in Poland or in Central and Eastern European countries. Your responsibilities will include defining and executing the certification and authorization project plan, collaborating with other engineering teams  to prepare certification evidence, supporting the C&A Manager throughout the certification and authorization process in particular project. You will work closely with external independent entities (NoBo, DeBo, National Safety Authorities, infrastructure managers) to ensure compliance with the European Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSI) and/or specific national requirements, and compile certification and authorization application files. Also, you will be responsible for obtaining the Authorization to Put into Service (APIS) of the On-board or Trackside ETCS signaling subsystem by the relevant National Authorities. 

 

We'll look to you for:

 

  • Conducting dedicated activities within the C&A processes in accordance with the project C&A management plan during all project phases
  • Supporting the C&A Manager in the identification and preparation of Certification and/or Authorisation requirements and documents
  • Collecting and compiling the C&A evidence documents to be submitted to independent assessors and/or the authorizing entities
  • Preparing declarations of conformity for railway products/subsystem (especially declarations of conformity to type)
  • Taking part in risk assessment and valuation
  • Being a key partner of the project team for Engineering, Planning, Safety and Validation in particular, and collaborating with independent assessors and authorizing entities

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in engineering
  • Understanding the principles of railway system operation
  • Knowledge of English for face-to-face communication and reading
  • Good communication and coordination skills (with internal and external stakeholders)
  • Experience in Certification & Authorization process in railway domain is a huge advantage
  • Knowledge of Polish national railway rules issued by infrastructure manager, UTK or law regulations related to railway system
  • Understanding of processes related to the assessment of conformity to type
  • Knowledge of CSM-RA is a huge advantage
  • Ability to learn and follow processes and regulations related to C&A scope
  • Autonomous and proactive approach to work
  • Analytical thinking and being able to identify interdependabilities in given situations
