The Transportation Operations Leader supports and facilitate the transformation of Alstom transportation organization in line with the Supply Chain strategy.

 

The Transportation Operations Leader supports operations and shipments ensuring process and regulation compliance. 
The Transportation Operations Leader manages the relationship and contract with key strategic provider(s) and drives transformation initiatives:

  • Responsible for daily operational performance by applying relevant processes
  • Lead and/or coordinate the governance established between Alstom and the transportation service provider
  • Maintain and sustain the Transportation performance scorecard both in terms of the quality of the services and costs 
  • Control completeness and quality of services delivered, and drive corrective actions as necessary
  • Supports strategic programs, projects and network studies for the Transportation organization to achieve AT operational objectives
  • Drive consistency in process, systems & data across AT Sites
  • Facilitates communication towards internal and external stakeholders



MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  

The Transportation Operations Leader supervises site onboarding and/or daily operations

  • Supervise transport operational activities, custom clearance operations & process application
  • Ensure all deliverables are provided on time and in full
    • Plan and monitor project Milestones (Transport budget, Onboarding process, PO management, Service provider invoices audit, ….)
    • Handle issues (day to day, recurrent) 
    • Ensure customs compliance within the scope of responsibility.
    • Provide visibility, traceability, status to all stakeholders
    • Ensure timely and accurate update of performance dashboard and reports
    • Support Site to get parts at the right QCD expectation, looking for inventories/cost optimization
    • Be first escalation point for operational issues raised by Alstom Sites

 

The Transportation Operations Leader drives Service provider continuous improvement and operational performance 

  • Prepare and run regular Performance reviews with Transportation providers and/or internal customers
  • Manage quality and claim management (Root cause analysis and corrective actions)
  • Drive continuous improvements initiatives and network studies in order to optimize shipments as well as truck and equipment utilization
  • Monitor cost performance vs Budget; identify cost drivers, analyze deviations and propose action plans
  • Run root cause analysis and corrective actions for any operational or system issues generating manual interventions in the transportation planning system

 

The Transportation Operations Leader maintains the Transportation Performance management system for the scope under its responsibility

  • Implement and maintain standard KPIs (on-time pickup and delivery and/or transport in/out per vehicle and/or truck fill-rate and/or cost per kg per shipment…); 
  • Understand reporting needs and design reports that provide stakeholders with accurate measurements of their business drivers
  • Ensures that communication channels are in place for a smooth process between Alstom and the service provider(s)


MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Educational Requirements 
Mandatory: 

  • University degree in relevant fields
  • Fluent in English    

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of modern principles for efficient transportation management, and distribution control


Experience 
Mandatory: 

  • Minimum 2 years, in similar position
  • Validated experiences in logistics, 3PL management, import and export procedure
  • Good understanding of customs regulations and procedures    

Desirable:

  • IFS knowledge
