Alstom in Barcelona has a full Tramway system, operating since 2004. Alstom is maintaining two networks, Trambaix (Sant Joan Despí) and Trambesos (Sant Adrià del Besòs), around 30km line and 41 tramways and soon 2 km line of full Aesthetic Power System, unique in Spain, with almost 100% availability of 41 trains.

 

You'll be responsible of securing the reliability and availability of Rolling Stock, Signalling and Power systems. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business, and much more. 

 

You’ll specifically take care of proposing some optimisation of maintenance injecting technology, but also provide technical design modification within the applicable Standards. We’ll look to you for:  

  • Animate Engineering Technical Issues meetings and Action follow-up
  • Prepare and attend to Contractual failures meetings
  • To produce clear and concise technical documentation in the form of specifications, test procedures, modification instructions, maintenance and safety instructions and technical reports.
  • To continually review all Maintenance, Reliability, Overhaul and associated documents to ensure all are up-to-date and correctly formatted.
  • To act as a technical expert, continuously develop expertise in selected field
  • To propose and define insertion of technology as HealthHub (Catenary Tracer, Track Tracer, Point Machine Tracer, Train Tracer,..)
  • Develop the local repair ability in Barcelona, specially the electronic repair as APS or Agate2
  • To demonstrate business case for localisation of the maintenance activity (Corrective, Overhaul…)
  • Respond to Client request received through letter or Monthly Report comments
  • To support optimisation of the maintenance schedule and casualty repair procedures in light of service experience and Operations feedback including:
    • Justification of inspection periodicity
    • Specification of materials and tools
    • Arranging and carrying out validation of tasks
    • Carrying out product/process audits of depot maintenance and casualty repairs
  • To support the production of the preventive & corrective & overhaul LCC, then optimisation

Performance Measurement :

  • LCC /Reliability improvement Customer satisfaction Product Safety

Accountabilities :

  • Achievement of objectives within agreed timescale and budget
  • People: between 1 to 5 directs reports

  • Recognised engineering qualification
  • Languages: Spanish, high level; English, technical level
  • Coordination and management ability
  • Experience in RS Warranty
  • Good knowledge off railway systems
  • Previous LCC experience
  • Good understanding of railway maintenance requirements and costs
  • Previous vehicle reliability/safety engineering experience, preferably in a railway background.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Resilience and sense of the hard work
  • Not required safety critical work
