Operations Maintenance Coordinator

The purpose of the job

The Operations Maintenance Coordinator manages and oversees the accomplishment of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and overhaul programs. This position is responsible for day by day(s) activities in the depot workshop. This also coordinates with operational planning associated with but not limited to scheduled maintenance of Rolling Stock, Depot Equipment, Track Switches, Tooling and Materials. The position will be based on a shift system to support a 24hours, 7 days a week management.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the Safety culture required to ensure Zero LTA’s
  • Day to day review on workloads planning and assign appropriate staff to complete the preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and inspections of the subsystems
  • Conduct the toolbox talks/Safety talks/Daily talks at the start and end of each shift
  • Monitor equipment servicing repairs, by auditing staff and completed tasks
  • Coordinate with material team to ensure appropriate material tooling is made available to the technicians team to expedite the planned work orders.
  • Plan work schedules and assignments to ensure that subsystems are being serviced within the maintenance guidelines
  • Monitor work order completion using Maximo and ensure time booking is accurate
  • Act as a mentor to the service technicians giving advice and technical support on defect handling and repair
  • Assist with the development of solutions to technical issues that arise on the fleet
  • Participate in maintenance plan reviews
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation.
  • Provide technical reports to management and suppliers on vehicle related issues, performance, and improvement initiatives.
  • Interlocutor with the Customer Operation Controller (CCR) regarding incidents, issues, events, alerts, etc.
  • Support Operator’s staff (drivers, train staff and station located personnel) upon request – Technical support by liaising with Engineer/Supervisor.
  • Monitor and analyse remotely in real time the fleet status of alerts, events, operational  data within remote monitoring tools (Maintenance Workstation and Health Hub).
  • Support in Maximo Team maintenance work orders issuing to maintenance on weekend and/or out-of-office hours.
  • Update Operational Planning upon occurrence of delays or unexpected difficulties to release trains or unscheduled activities.
  • Cascade Depot operational planning including fleet maintenance activities (planned and unplanned), facilities maintenance and train movements.
  • Interface between maintenance execution team leaders, material planner and fleet planner.
  • Coordination of maintenance activities according to maintenance space and lead times.
  • Report Progress to Shift production manager & dotted line to Fleet Planner for Depot operational planning updates.
  • Monitor fleet Operator’s on time performance for trains delivery to maintenance (Take-Over punctuality for Train shunting – Remove from service and return to operations FFO).
  • Collect Release to Service notifications and manage  completion of Service Orders for Hand-Over.

 

 

Experience

  • 5 to 7 years experience in Maintenance, Rolling stock and Overhaul Management, Depot Equipment and/or Track Switches Maintenance
  • 3 years relevant experience desired in railways and/or airlines maintenance planning.
  • Understanding of planning and scheduling in regard to pre-defined maintenance schedules.
  • Other industries such as Oil&Gas, aviation maintenance, marine maintenance will be considered on a case by case basis.
  • Good knowledge of electrical or mechanical. Such as read circuit diagram, schematic, etc. 
  • Able to work on shift
  • People Management Skills, good team player
  • Proficiency in MS Excel

 

Educational Requirementsis

Study in Electrical/Mechanical or related technical field.
