Purpose of the Job

All Projects : Supervises and validates Sub-System selection

Project he is in charge of : Manages project development & deliverables with supplier and customer (TSE-TDE-TCE)

Product development : Adds products to the catalogue (development with suppliers)

 

Organisation Reporting

Hierarchically to Train Design System Domain Manager

Functionally to Project / Sub-System Manager /TSE during project duration

Responsibilities

Project Engineering

 

General :

  • Ensures that Catalogue product and catalogue process is fully applied in project with appropriate tools (Connector, costing tool…)
  • Prepares DR with suppliers (Sub-System/product level) or with TSE (train/product integration level)
  • Ensures the quality of the deliverables (TSS & Suppliers)
  • Manages the technical Sub-System PSLI/RAMP
  • Ensures that standard key design rules are applied with Platform and Sourcing colleagues.
  • Ensures that the Métiers tools are well applied (Connector, costing tool, DRCL)
  • Supports the sites if requested on critical technical issues
  • Reports the progress of the project (meetings, weekly/regular report)
  • Is in charge to follow work-package and budget
  • Ensure coordination between TSS/PU/Métier on interfaces, performances, technical issues resolution during detailed design phase
  • On TSE request, Participate in technical meetings with customer in order to provide support.

 

Tender Phase :

  • Jointly with BTM/TSE fill in Entry “Connector” and issues Exit “Connector”
  • Defines the relevant product with gap analysis on the Connector
  • Jointly with the TSE prepares the technical assessment for Business Award
  • Issues the technical description of the solution proposed to the Customer

 

Project Phase

  • Writes Sub-System specification and architecture description (RSAD2) in collaboration with the   SSE/PU/TCE according to train level architecture
  • Writes the Technical Purchasing Specification (TPS0 - Short Specification) when needed
  • Writes the TPS1 for supplier consultation and manages technical contract (TPS2) until design has been frozen
  • Assists TSE in filling in Entry “Connector” and issues Exit “Connector” (Connector RSAD1)
  • Confirms the product selection or not based on gap analysis (Connector 0 to Connector 1)
  • Confirms the catalogue product reference
  • Drives technical development of the product until GFV in close relationship with suppliers if it is a catalogue product according to the WBS
  • Writes train level test specification

 

Product Engineering :

May on demand, manage some R&D Work packages

When he is the owner of a TSS Product/Architecture :

      • Propose yearly Sustaining Plan for the said Product or Architecture (Second Source, Management of  
      • Obsolescence, Redesign to Cost, New development)
      • Drives the plan which has been agreed for
      • Ensures the catalogue up to date about technical performance and quality performance
      • Collects and formalizes return of experience on solution

 

Problems Solving :

  • Support TSE to address issues on local projects after GFV

 

QCD and Reporting :

  • Perform reporting at project level (to TSE, via KPI) and métier level (via weekly reports)
  • Support TSE for implementation and update of Engineering risks mitigation plan, change order process and QCD optimisation

Provide Return of experience to be implemented in Reference Solutions

 

Educational Requirements :

Bachelor /Master degree in Mechanical / Aerospace / Industrial Engineering

 

Knowledge & Experience :

4 to 10 years’ experience in product development in Automotive/Heavy Industries/Aerospace/Railway domain

Able to work in a team and share easily work result

Experience in design & development of passenger interior commodities like galley, pantry/catering, toilet, sleeper cabin, sleeper birth etc. taking into consideration of people with disabilities

Good Communications and interpersonal skills

Customer Focus / Management skills

Structured and organised with Hand-on approach
